Task-1
This graph shows the kinds of activities done by old people in their spare time, covering a period from the 1980s to now in the United States. We can see that generally the activities listed have been increasing in popularity amongst the elderly, with hiking increasing steadily throughout the years, and watching TV being the most popular overall.
In the 1980s, nearly all activities were growing in popularity. The only activity which was becoming less popular over these years was going to the theatre. Going to the theatre declined steeply from 50% to 30%.
This changed in the 1990s, and going to the theatre became more popular, whereas reading saw a dramatic drop in popularity. The number of people doing all other activities increased.

Despite this, watching TV is still the second most popular activity nowadays amongst this group. Most elderly people are hiking nowadays in their spare time.
Task-2
Firstly, with the advent of new technologies, communication these days have become easier and quicker. Letters were the only means of communication in old ages and it took a long time to reach a letter to the recipients but modern world no more needs letters since it has been replace by superior mediums like e-mail.For instance, now it is possible to send any kind of message within a micro second to any part of the world through e-mails. In addition, although letters were once regarded as a way to communicate the feelings of human mind, the invention of mobile phones has made it simpler. At present, people can communicate each others feelings any time with mobile phones. Moreover, the video calling service has made it possible to see each other and talk simultaneously. As an illustration, if you are living at a distant place from your family, it will take only a few minutes to connect with your family through video call. The need of letters has become unnecessary as the modern communication mediums are faster and quicker than letters. Moreover, it has also lessened the emotional appeal of letters by the introduction of services like video calling. As a result, this essay completely agrees with the point that it is justified that letters are facing extinction in this era.

Task-2
In this modern world, we can
see a huge technological advancement in communication field. Before the
invention of telephone, letters were the only way to communicate with
people living in distance. But today, email, mobile, land phone etc. are
used as a means of communications. This essay will argue why I feel
that letters are always a special way despite of the invention of
various ways of communication.
Nowadays, Most of the people live a very busy life. They always look for the simplest and easiest way to do a work. For example, after the invention of telephone, people used to communicate using telephone instead of writing letters. Furthermore, when internet was invented, email had been recognised as a more convenient way for communication. Email works as a more convenient way since it does not require someone to be present at that exact time to respond as it is required in the case of telephone/mobile. So, these modern communication ways has made our life easy in one sense.
However, nothing can surpass the way people could feel holding a letter in their hands. People usedto write letters not only for just communication purpose but also for expressing their emotions and love. Letters are assumed a token of love even in this modern world. The reader can feel the touch of their loved one’s in this little piece of paper. Thus, Letters are considered a special means of communication.
Furthermore, People sometimes read over and over the same letter out of their love and emotions attached to this piece of paper. For example, when I was in class 8, one of my friends was moving to a new school. She wrote me a letter expressing how important our friendship for her and could felt the emotions.
To sum up, In conclusion/ At the end/ To the end/ no matter how much modern this world gets, letters will be always a very special way to express feelings.
